In-Depth Retreat Overview

Remembering Wholeness: A Transformational Retreat for the Queer Community

May 2025 | Jungle Gayborhood, Costa Rica

The Essence of Our Journey

An Invitation to Return to Your True Self

Set amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Costa Rica’s Diamante Valley, this seven-day retreat welcomes all GBTQIA+ men (cis and trans) of every age, background, body, and experience level. Whether you’re new to plant medicine, meditation, or yoga, or have been walking this path for years, you’ll find a supportive space for profound personal healing, deeper self-connection and growth. Together, we will explore what it means to live from a place of enoughness—not striving, not proving, but simply being in the fullness of who we are.

In a world that often tells us we are incomplete, this retreat is a homecoming—a space to remember that you are already whole. Through sacred plant work, nature immersion, and holistic practices, Remembering Wholeness invites you to rediscover the inherent worth, balance, and authenticity that already exist within you.

Throughout the retreat, we will weave together three fundamental truths:

✨ You Are Already Whole

There is nothing outside of you—no love, achievement, or adventure—that can complete you. Your wholeness is intrinsic, and remembering this shifts how you move through the world.

🌿 You Are Deeply Connected to Nature and All Things

The earth is not separate from us; it is an extension of us. As we honor and immerse ourselves in nature, we dissolve the illusion of separation and reconnect to the web of life.

🤝 You Thrive in Community

Healing does not happen in isolation. We co-create a sacred container where authenticity, vulnerability, and connection become pathways to profound transformation.

As part of this exploration, we may reflect on our relationship with intimacy and sensuality—examining where we hold shame, seek validation, or can cultivate a more authentic and embodied connection with pleasure. While these themes may arise in discussion, this is not a sexual retreat. To maintain the integrity of our deep inner work and the sacred nature of plant medicine, all participants are asked to abstain from sexual activity during the retreat, ensuring a focused and supportive container for transformation and integration.

What to Expect

This retreat is an experiential journey, a balance of deep personal reflection, community connection, and the integration of transformative practices. Here’s what we’ll explore together:

Sacred Plant Ceremonies & Plant Medicine Wisdom (Optional)
Guided by experienced facilitator John Jacob Mubarak, two sacred plant ceremonies offer a gateway into the subconscious, revealing insights, clearing energetic blockages, and deepening self-awareness. These ceremonies are held in reverence, with a focus on safety, integrity, and personal intention. (For more information, email us at hello@junglegayborhood.com)

Nourishment for Body and Soul

Transformation is not just about insight; it’s about embodiment. Through movement, breathwork, nature immersion and meditation, we will integrate our experiences on a somatic level, allowing shifts to take root in our daily lives.

🌞 Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Movement & Breathwork
Through breath, movement, and stillness, we’ll align mind, body, and spirit, opening pathways for deeper awareness and healing.

✨ Workshops for Deep Transformation
Our retreat offers immersive workshops designed to expand your self-awareness and empower your spiritual journey.

  • 🔹 Human Design Workshop – Discover the unique blueprint of your soul through the lens of Human Design. Learn how to align with your innate energy, make decisions with confidence, and live in greater flow with your true nature.

  • 🍄 Sacred Plant Medicine & Intention-Setting Workshop – Whether you’re new to plant medicine or deepening your practice, this workshop will guide you in setting powerful, heart-centered intentions for your journey. Explore best practices for working with plant allies, creating a sacred container, and integrating insights for lasting transformation.

These workshops are designed to equip you with profound tools for self-discovery, empowerment, and spiritual recalibration.

Post-Retreat Integration Support & Spiritual Recalibration Circle
The journey doesn’t end when you leave the jungle. As a participant, you will receive one month of free integration in the Spiritual Recalibration Circle—a powerful community space that supports the embodiment of your retreat insights. Through ongoing breathwork, meditation, and group connection, this circle will help you integrate your healing into daily life.

A Sacred & Inclusive Space
Remembering Wholeness is a retreat for all GBTQIA+ men (cis and trans), welcoming individuals of all backgrounds, ages, body types and experiences. Whether this is your first retreat or part of your ongoing spiritual path, you are welcome here.

Participation in plant ceremonies is optional. For the health and safety of all, we require a pre-retreat health screening and conversation with the facilitators to ensure alignment.

Are You Ready to Remember?

This is not about learning something new—it is about remembering what has always been true. This is about coming home to yourself, to community, and to the deep knowing that you are already enough.

💫 Reserve Your Spot Today!

To create a safe environment conducive to healing and community development, we will ask all participants to adhere to these agreements throughout the week. While we will explore topics of sexuality, we will ask participants to refrain from sex during the retreat. This helps to create a safe environment, and encourages deep connections without the motivation of sex, which past participants recognize as a very refreshing change for queer men.
